Tone generator most commonly used with hand held probe 500XP or earlier Amplifier 109J to identify cable pairs. Also used with Amplifier 109K and accessories to perform cable location. It generates a precision 1kHz tone at any of 4 cadence rates. LED lights to indicate a short circuit. Includes a Capacitor to provide DC isolation. Water-resistant and floats.
Operating Mode
Output Transformer Configuration Used for tracing wire pairs. The cable pair is connected across the output transformer.
Single Ended Configuration Use for tracing cables. One output is connected to the cable the other is connected to ground.
DIS Configuration Allows pair tracing while connected to the exchange without drawing current. A DC blocked connection is made via an internal capacitor.
Short Circuit Detection An LED lights to indicate a short circuit on a cable pair up to 2km long.
